Homework Policy for History Class with Ms. Praefke
Daily Assignments
Students should get into the habit of handing homework in on time. It is my expectation that students work to achieve this. Daily assignments that are not corrected in class can be handed in late with a 10% deduction for each day the assignment is late until the assignment is handed back to the class. If the assignment is graded in class, the student should correct what they have completed and earn credit for it. If nothing is done then they will earn a grade of a zero.
Current Events
Students are responsible to present one current event a quarter. They may present a second one for extra credit if they would like, but this needs to be scheduled ahead of time. Students also have to take notes on other classmates presentation. Points earned from presentation and notes will determine the score the student has earned for current events.
Long-term Assignments
When a long-term assignment is given, students are expected to turn that assignment in on time. If a student chooses to turn in the assignment late, they will lose 20% credit for each day it is late. For students to be successful with long-term assignments, students need to plan ahead and set goals so they can be successful.
Absences
When a student is absent it is his or her responsibility to find out what was done in class and assigned when they were gone. A good time to see me is during the student's study hall, before school or after school or at lunch.
