SLINGER HIGH SCHOOL
DRIVER EDUCATION
Slinger High School offers Driver Education classroom and behind the wheel instruction SUMMERS ONLY. For more specific dates and details click the link at the left.
Students must be at least 15 years old to enroll in classroom instruction, and at least 15 years and six months old in order to take behind the wheel instruction. To get a temporary driver's permit, state law requires that the student be at least 15 years and six months old AND be scheduled to start behind the wheel instruction within 60 days. (You cannot obtain the temporary permit if you have not enrolled in behind the wheel instruction.)
If the student is old enough for classroom instruction but not behind the wheel, he/she may take classroom here at Slinger High School and then take behind the wheel with a commercial driving company. Birth date eligibility cut-off dates are announced each January in the high school newsletter and on this web site.
Classroom is typically offered in the mornings, immediately following the last day of the school year, and lasts three weeks. It is offered again starting in mid-to-late July. Behind the wheel instruction is offered various times throughout the summer (and also in September after school in the late afternoon or early evening, if necessary).
