American Studies Two is taught with an emphasis on student centered projects that give students practice in understanding multiple perspectives on key events in history from the Great Depression to the Present. A strong emphasis is placed on projects that supplement lecture and text readings which give students an opportunity to discover history as well as practice leadership skills. An oral history, where students actively seek historical knowledge from one who is more experienced than them, is a component of the course.
