Bibliotherapy is an expressive therapy that involves the reading of specific texts with the purpose of healing. It uses an individual's relationship to the content of books and poetry and other written words as therapy. Bibliotherapy is often combined with writing therapy.
As a school counselor, I LOVE books! I can find so many great tales that connect with our students. Great books are one of my favorite things to use for lessons and I love sharing them with our students!
Below you will find one of my favorite websites for bibliotherapy. This is also a great website to browse to find specific books that your family or student may need to address a variety of topics (browse the collection by topic by using their sidebar menu). Below you will also see a list of a few of my favorite books or workbooks to use for various topics as a start. Should you have additional questions, have books to share with me, or need other ideas - feel free to contact me anytime! Happy reading!
