Slinger Reopening Plan 2020-2021

After careful study of documentation of the CDC, DHS, Washington County Health Services, and Department of Public Instruction Education Forward guidance documents and public input via survey, the following documents and addendums reflect the District’s plan to reopen in the fall of 2020.  All recognize that the pandemic presents challenges and variables that can change rapidly.  The re-opening plan is subject to change based on the current guidance from public health.  The goal of the plan is to remain open for daily student instruction with a parent/student option for virtual education.

Educational Options

Slinger will be offering three educational options for the fall. In-Person, Online, and Hybrid.

• In-Person School versus Online School Comparison
• Grades 4K-5 online option will use Lincoln Learning
• Grades 6-12 online option will use Apex Learning

Please understand that students in an online course will still be Slinger School District students but will not be assigned to a current Slinger teaching staff member.  We will hire certified staff to monitor progress and for the personal communication.
